Finn, Frey, Lawrence, Schaffer NO ONE TRICK PONIES
Excerpt from the Express-Times

Pole vaulters are often treated as field goal kickers in football; they're more or less left alone to work on their specialty out of the range of their teammates, whom often view their specialty with a certain degree of skepticism.
But vaulters Abby Schaffer of Easton, the Liberty duo of Beki Finn and Becky Frey, Bethlehem Catholic's Kerry McDermott and Emmaus' Julia Green -- all members of Mike Lawryk's Vertical Assault Club and who rank as the top five vaulters in the region -- are branching out to other events.
In fact, four of these five rank in the top five in the region in either the long and triple jumps. McDermott got off a long jump of 16-6.5 in Becahi's dual meet against Dieruff Friday for the best effort in the region this spring while junior Mary Lawrence is ranked No. 2 (16-1), Schaffer and Frey are tied for the No. 3 spot (15-10) and Green is No. 4 in the triple jump (33-0). Finn, who's leaning toward the University of South Florida to continue her vaulting career, is on both Liberty's 400 and 1600 relay teams, so she's not confining herself to the vaulting area either.
