USATF 2009 Summer Information

USA Track and Field is the governing body for the sport. Each region of the country has a USATF association - In PA & DE, its the MIDATLANTIC Association. In NJ, Its the NJ Association.

There are summertime competitions for athletes aged 13-18 and Vertical Assault will be at some of these meets. USATF and their summer meets can be very confusing to figure out - We have done our best to compile information and put it in one place below.

PA, DE Athletes

June 13th Mid Atlantic Association Championships - 9am Girls, noon Boys. Kutztown PA, $6 Entry
Kutztown is approximately 35 minutes north west of Vertical Assault. You will need to "qualify" for this meet from the preliminary meet June 6th. Since they are not contesting the vault June 6th, all vaulters automatically are "qualified". Coach Chelo will be filling out entry forms for athletss wishing to compete at this June 13th meet. IF YOU WANT TO COMPETE, PLEASE EMAIL US BY JUNE 4TH. Top 4 in each age division qualify forward to the Regional Championships in Jamestown, NY.

July 11th, 2009 - Regional Championships, Jamestown, NY, 8AM
Athletes must have qualified for this meet through their assocation championships.

National Championships - Greensboro, NC, End of July 2009

July 24th - Keystone State Games, York, PA. ENTRY DEADLINE JULY 13th.
Entry is $20 for PA athletes, $30 for all others.

NJ Athletes

June 13th NJ Association Championships - NO MEET HELD FOR THE VAULT
For unknown reasons, the NJ Association has decided not to contest the vault, but rather, to just allow athletes to automatically advance to the regional championships happening July 11th in upstate NY. In leui of competing, Vertical Assault is working with NJ & PA Associations to try to allow athletes from NJ to compete in the PA Meet June 13th in Kutztown, PA. This would give NJ athletes an opportunity to compete. Athletes wishing to go to the regional champs will need to enter online no later then June 14th:

Other NJ Track Meets
USATF NJ has many other meets going on this summer. We encourage athletes to enter and compete, though Vertical Assault may not be in attendance.
